The Player’s Gavel: Theatrical Mock Trial
Welcome to the Court of Judge Cricket. You may have heard of him. He is the sidekick and moral guide to Pinocchio, one of LEO's lifelong friends. The Honorable Mister Cricket now presides as the Judge of Fairytale Court, hosted by The Player’s Gavel workshop.
Join Judge Cricket this summer as he takes on some of his toughest court cases yet!
Was the Big Bad Wolf the tyrant that little Red made him out to be? Or was he just a poor lonely pup who stumbled into Grandma’s house to take a nap?
Were Hansel and Gretel lured into the house of an evil witch? Or is this a clear-cut case of breaking and entering by some hungry youngsters?
Fairytale Court needs theater players to join the greatest legal minds in the entire fairytale realm. Each camper will take on different roles in our daily mock trials. We need lawyers, plaintiffs, witnesses, bailiffs and jurors. What will you become in The Player’s Gavel: Mock Trial?
Along the way, we will:
Learn about courtroom procedures and due process
Develop and practice public speaking delivery skills, including: poise, confidence, gestures, and vocal expression
Perform a variety of different roles through several fairytale themed trials
Experiment with extemporaneous speaking
Learn from each other and from our experienced instructors
Make lots of new friends!
