Tuition Protection Plan and Change Protection Plan: As all cancellations are by their nature unexpected, we strongly encourage all families to purchase either the Tuition Protection Plan or the Change Protection Plan upon application. The amount of refund or credit available through these plans depends on the timing of the cancellation, as outlined in the chart below.  Camp credits issued through these plans are transferable to another student and never expire. For cancellations due to extenuating circumstances, please see the extenuating circumstances section below to learn about additional plan benefits.

Our Tuition Protection Plan and Change Protection Plan offer a refund or credit (excluding the premium paid for the plan itself but including the normally non-refundable deposit) if the client family cancels their enrollment with written notification prior to the start of the program, as outlined in the schedule. The amount of refund or credit will be based on the amount that was due at the time of the change or cancellation. These plans can only be purchased at the time of initial application, but they can be added within 10 days of registration if the camp start date is at least 30 days away.

Extenuating Circumstances: We understand that at times campers may not be able to attend camp due to unforeseen hardships:

  • Severe Unexpected Medical Condition
  • Death in the immediate/nuclear family
  • Severe Unexpected Financial Hardship
The purchase of a protection plan will give families security in the event of these emergencies.

Cancelation due to Extenuating Circumstances with a protection plan:

If a family who has purchased a protection plan must withdraw from a summer program due to one of the reasons listed above, they may follow the camp credit appeals process to be given one level of protection above which they are normally entitled. For example, if a family with change protection cancels 5 days before camp they would normally be entitled to a 70% camp credit. Through the appeals process, they may be issued up to an 85% camp credit. Documentation of the extenuating circumstance will be necessary, and approval will be at the sole discretion of the appeals committee. No camper will be given more than a 100% tuition refund.

Cancelation due to Extenuating Circumstances without a protection plan:

If a family who has not purchased a protection plan must withdraw from a summer program due to one of the reasons listed above, they may follow the camp credit appeals process to appeal to be able to pay a 10% fee retroactively and be given a partial camp credit valid until the conclusion of the following summer.  Documentation of the extenuating circumstance will be necessary, and decisions about the issuance of camp credit are considered policy exceptions and will be at the sole discretion of the appeals committee. No camper without a Tuition Protection plan will receive a tuition refund.

Refund Process: All refund requests must be received in writing. Please allow up to 10 business days for your refund to be processed. Refunds are typically issued in the same form of payment as the original payment.

Additional Policies and Resources:

Program Cancellation

It is rare that Education Unlimited must cancel a program, class, or trip due to low enrollment. Most years, 100% of all offerings occur as scheduled. However, many of our offerings have minimum enrollment requirements such as a 15-student minimum for college tours. In the event enrollment minimums aren’t reached, Education Unlimited reserves the right to cancel any given program. In the rare event that a program is canceled by Education Unlimited for low enrollment, Education Unlimited will refund all tuition money paid for the canceled programs. Please allow 14 days for such a refund to be processed. We strive to provide 2 weeks’ notice or more, but in the event, we don’t provide at least 10 days of notice by sending an email to the email address you have provided to us, we will also extend a credit of $500 for a future program, which can be combined with any other offer! It is each participant's family’s responsibility to check their email account regularly and to update contact email addresses with the correct contact information. Education Unlimited is not responsible for notices not received because of such problems.

In the event of cancellation due to Force majeure, an Act of God, or cancellation by the campus location, Education Unlimited will provide a 100% camp credit of monies paid. This credit may be used for any child in the affected camper's immediate family and does not expire.
