Michael Kroesche, MFA — Instructor

Michael Kroesche was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, but has lived and taught all over the world. He received his BA in Creative Writing with a Minor in French from the Univ. of Southern California where he was awarded the Virginia Middleton Scholarship for excellence in academics and creative writing, and he earned his MFA in Poetry from the Univ. of Las Vegas, Nevada. He currently lives and works in Las Vegas where he'll be starting his 8th year as an adjunct instructor teaching Composition at UNLV while working towards an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration with a focus on advocacy and student affairs. While graduate school and teaching fill most of his time, he continues to work as a professional writer whose poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and academic work have appeared in scholarly journals such as The Literary Review, The Colorado Review, Foliate Oak, Interim, Bayou Literary Magazine, among others. This past year he's also engaged in numerous readings, cross-disciplinary work with musicians and visual artists, academic conference presentations, and community organizations such as the Higher Education Student Leadership Assoc., the Las Vegas Humanities Assoc., and the Las Vegas Poets Organization.
