Miriam Wilson — Camp Counselor

Miriam Wilson is an honors student at Iowa State University perusing her bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering with a minor in technical communications. This past semester she studied abroad at Cardiff University in Wales. She is actively involved on campus where she is a student leader in the Society of Women Engineers, member of Sigma Gamma Tau aerospace honors society, and euphonium player for Memorial Brass. Miriam is a part of a team working to build Iowa State’s first CubeSat that will be launched into space in an upcoming year.

Miriam grew up in Minnesota just west of the Twin Cities where she enjoyed growing vegetables in the summertime and sledding in the wintertime. During her high school years, she was a part of a FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) robotics team, threw for her school’s track and field team, and was a captain of the knowledge bowl team. Her senior year of high school she was awarded the opportunity to attend Intel ISEF (International Science and Engineering Fair) for her research about the feasibility of 3D printing custom bone implants.

When Miriam is not busy with homework and clubs she enjoys watching Doctor Who and Marvel movies, reading, geocaching, and camping. She is the middle child with one older sister and younger brother. Miriam has been spending the summer with her parents, brother, and labradoodle in their new home in the bay area.
