Krysti Specht, MPM — College Admissions Counselor

Krysti has been supporting and advocating for college access for the past ten years. A former Educational Advisor with the Japanese Community Youth Council, Krysti worked in both Philip and Sala Burton High School and George Washington High School as a College Counselor. In 2012, Krysti became the Director for College Access Programs with the Japanese Community Youth Council and oversaw college outreach programs for 12 schools servicing over 2,500 students annually. In 2013-2014, she was a Fellow with the Women's Foundation of California on the College Access Team. The team built and advocated for a bill that required the implementation of degree tracking services in all community colleges throughout the state. She recently moved back to the Bay Area after some time in Washington, DC, where she was a Director for the Council for Opportunity in Education, the lobbying and advocacy arm for low income, first-generation college support programs, specifically TRIO and GEAR UP programs.

She received her Bachelor's of Art in English and Bachelor's of Science in Public Health from San Francisco State University. More recently, she graduated with her Master's in Policy Management from Georgetown University, where she focused on financial aid reform for students in higher education.
