Program Overview
The California Cultural Discovery Institute gives your child the opportunity to live on-campus this summer at one of the world's most prestigious universities: The University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Located in the heart of Los Angeles, California, this program gives students a chance to experience everything that LA has to offer.
Students will enjoy classes that will allow them to immerse themselves fully into American culture, from food and music, to movies, sports, government, and much more. Students will also have the opportunity to experience that culture directly as they take excursions to some of Southern California most historic districts, best shopping, most beautiful beaches, and amazing amusement parks.
Activities
Cultural immersion is about more than check lists. To truly learn about a culture, you have to experience it firsthand.
Whether it's a surf lesson (or tacos!) on the world famous Venice Beach, shopping on Rodeo Drive, hiking up to the Hollywood sign for an enviable Instagram background, or taking a study break in one of UCLA's incredible libraries, we believe that experiences are what will truly define a successful summer program for your child.
On-Campus Life
During the course of the program, students will call the dormitories at UCLA home. Staying on campus means students get to be in the middle of the action at one of the world's top universities. Whether they are playing traditional American field games in the sunshine or catching a movie after class, dorm life at UCLA is unmatched.
While on campus, students will eat at the renowned campus dining halls, just like UCLA students do. While out on excursions, students will get a chance to taste some of Southern California's best meals and favorite cultural treats. California is a global melting pot and students will truly experience that in our incredible, diverse food options.
Program Pricing:
Session A: July 3 - July 23 (3 weeks) - $9000
Session B: July 24 - August 5 (2 weeks) - $6600
Program pricing is all inclusive of everything the students will need while they are in Los Angeles. This includes transportation to and from the airport in Los Angeles, transportation and admission to all program excursions, curriculum and classroom materials, housing in the UCLA residence halls for the duration of the program, meals in the UCLA dining hall and during excursions. Price does not include airfare, travel visa.
