Education Unlimited believes in small-group, immersive learning with subject matter experts and experienced teachers. We strive to provide industry-leading instruction to all of our students and hold all staff to the highest possible standards. Staff assignments vary by program and location. Some of our recent staff members for this program include:

John Robert Johnson - SAT Instructor

Robert Johnson is an instructor specializing in standardized test preparation. For close to 20 years, Robert has taught the skills and nuances of test prep in both class and one-on-one format. Inducted into MENSA during his teen years, Robert became a National Merit Finalist after he received his own impressive test scores. A graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, Robert began tutoring his fellow students during college through his on-campus Learning Enrichment Center. Upon graduation, his lifelong study of standardized tests began. He has authored more than 1,000 test questions still in use around the world today and developed test materials and curriculum for numerous agencies. In addition to his attention to intellectual learning, Robert teaches strategies to help students with test anxiety, poor organization, and ineffective time management.

In addition to being a test preparation instructor, Robert has spent time pursuing other interests as performing comedy and training as a professional sushi chef. He joined the Education Unlimited team in 2017.

Matt Westerman - SAT Instructor

Matt has over ten years of experience instructing students from elementary school to college. He earned his BA in Psychology, with a minor in Business Writing, from UC Santa Barbara, making him very familiar with the mental, emotional, and academic challenges that students face today. Matt brings an encouraging and optimistic attitude to the classroom, understanding that enthusiasm is infectious and that everyone learns differently. He enjoys discovering the best ways to reach each individual student.

Furthermore, Matt has an impressive 10 years of experience coaching students in both the SAT and ACT. His extensive work and study have made him deeply knowledgeable about both the structure and content of the exams. With his instruction and their hard work and dedication, Matt's SAT students often see score jumps of over 200 points.

Outside of teaching, Matt is a singer-songwriter who frequently performs in the Los Angeles area. He also enjoys meditating, playing basketball, and maintaining a healthy balance in life.
