Overview
Designed to help students build confidence in their public speaking skills, our Public Speaking Institute trains students in public speaking, logic, and rhetoric through an interactive and dynamic curriculum that encourages growth through ongoing practice. Students develop communication, critical thinking, and negotiation skills in a supportive, non-competitive environment.
Over the course of the program, students participate in two core components: Debate and Persuasive or Informative Speaking. In-person campers also enjoy an evening elective course. Elective options vary by session and include topics such as Model Congress, Mock Trial, Negotiations, Reader’s Theater, and Improvisational Speaking.
