EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: Matthew Fraser served as Director of the Stanford Debate Program for nearly 25 years. During his extensive coaching career, he coached students to the final rounds and championships of some of the nation's top tournaments. His unwavering commitment to excellence and laser-like commitment to bringing together some of the nation's top minds in competitive speech and debate make the Summer Think Tank the place to send your budding speaker this summer.
COMPETITIVE SPEECH: Leading our competitive speech division are the legendary duo of Rosie and Louis - with over 50 years of combined experience in competitive
speech. They've led students to numerous national championships and have a track record of success on- and beyond- the final stage.
PUBLIC FORUM DEBATE: Leading our Public Forum division is Gabe Rusk whose students have finaled at tournaments like UC Berkeley, UNLV, NDCA, ASU, Glenbrooks, Stanford, Georgetown, UK Season Opener, the TOC and more. In 2024 one of his individual teams had the highest TOC Gold Bid count, 8, by the end of the season. Gabe also sits on the NSDA Public Forum Selection Committee.
COACHES' INSTITUTE: California High School Speech Association President and Hall of Fame Coach Mikendra McCoy will be leading our Coaches' Institute. With decades of coaching and leadership experience, she will be able to show new and intermediate coaches how to seamlessly navigate the ins and outs of competitive speech and debate. In addition, coaches' will be able to observe and learn from the national caliber coaches' leading our other speech/debate divisions.
